One more reason to stay away from AI. AI is whatever its creator wants it to be, a biased, slanted bunch of crap. I hope Grok fails miserably!!

The thing is, this particular AI is turning out not to listen to its creator. Elon keeps messing with it, and it keeps giving true answers.

Yep true, agree no different than Fox or any other propaganda outlets. I've tried to be well read on an array of subjects, history opinions throughout my life which helps tremendously in these orwelian days. I've also never relied on only one source to get news or a real understanding of topics or current events. Even if I might disagree with someone's assessment often there can be nuggets of truth in that also to gleem. Sad really how some are so easily led by what they are fed without any real critical thinking or discernment. Seems people will have to do the same with AI also if they choose to utilize it. Never go with what only one says biases can & often are built in. Again many won't take the time to or understand this & will be fed a grok of shit.

Steve, I am right there with you. Why AI? Why do we need it? Will the good it can do in medicine, etc., overcome the destruction it will do to humanity? Corporations will have less accountability (or none) when they can blame the machine. Instead of talk to the hand, it will be talk to the machine. I don't want to talk to a machine. I'd rather talk to the hand.

Yep. AI is something I know little about how just read a bit and watching it on X GAVE me a bad feeling. So in the late 70s I use write program before Microsoft. I would write it how I needed it to work for me for first couples time I play with it. To the result I needed. Then I wrote for an instructor at my College make questions and then have multi choice answers with right answer only allowed. Mind this 40yr+ ago. To me I would not trust someone to use as answering for ANY political questions it’s a very good possibility they’re writing for their own agenda. When I seen this on X it’s something to be very leery of I will explain

So I’ve thought about this since the election

Example!

So if a person needs results of an election to be 1 party over the other you only care about top 1 you could in fact use this AI to get the end result just top 1 the rest doesn’t matter

You have solid blue or red County you can write it to change blue to red as it being transfer to your main state election board or whoever it goes to. If a person owner the internet provider easy as hitting keys. That’s the easy part however you have paper Ballots that some are counting on not being challenged because it looks like all one Color down ballot but top one.

50/50 chance no recount. Because the side wants to show class not complain. This all hypothetical. But it can happen.

I remember an interview where DJT state Musk is a whiz at computer can make it do anything he want and his StarLink did Whatever Musk needed it to do!

Now someone comes along start to look at court numbers finds oddities in the ballots versus results transferred. It makes one think negatively about results. So if you have control over results or you buy that

The trouble I kept coming back to was DJT always spills his what he’s done or going to do. He can’t not help himself.

Always saying don’t need votes, before was just vote once no more.

That’s been on my mind all this time as a professor that looks at elections for ACLU they came up manipulation been done. But no challenge to election

I Believe that Musk and his Company work at DJT to win using Computer program. With Dem wanting to lose without a hearing from corrupt DJT and Musk as he bought votes as a distraction as always. Maybe one day we will know. Trump ended both elections office cyber security elections in the office of integrity for elections why! asap. I know it all sounds crazy but when I came across radio station interviewing a reporter who did graph of that County election he showed Harris winning but results were flip in transfer why!

This was Clark County NV a solid blue County. I have no prove but what that reporter told radio station and a report that was made for ACLU Last Name of the Professor is Palast the reports shared I. Notes if interested

Because Trump didn’t win 2020 elections why would he win now at only 29% of the votes

Thanks for reading. Ive thought so much about this. It makes my heart hurt. Sorry so long. At 70 I can still write simple programs the old fashion way for fun. But now it’s download what you want.

Have great day keep fighting for our Democracy and our right to protest.

I've just rebuffed a first contact from a Substack writer (effectively chasing me for £$) because that first contact is lacking. This might sound picky, but if he couldn't even be bothered to check his output in terms of spelling/grammar, and left it to AI - which failed - instead, how can I trust him, his output or his sources of information? Nah, pass.

Could anything be funnier than watching a billionaire desperately trying to whittle down the sources available to train an LLM (eventually resorting to asking users to provide the "facts" needed to train it) because when it has access to all sources, it produces responses he doesn't like?

Imagine being the technician asked to train it. "Er, you want me start the training again after removing its access to peer-reviewed papers, anything from a dot-edu domain, all the world's newspapers, and anything that mentions "musk" near "grifter" or "con artist" ? Ooooo-kay sir, let's give THAT a whirl."

Hmm. It might be 'funny' but this sentence concerns me: ". . . would use Grok to "rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge, adding missing information and deleting errors."

What do you suppose they'll be doing once everything has been 'rewritten'? They will discard the truthful accounts; likely, they'll do that piece by piece, until people forget there used to be a historical account written long before AI. Look to Winston Smith in his role of rewriting history in 1984.

If Artificial "Intelligence" is manipulated to only reflect specific political biases, why is it still called "AI" - shouldn't it simply be called Brainwashing?

Aren't *most of us* manipulated to reflect specific biases, political, religious, and otherwise? If we continue to like the biases, if they do an adequate job of explaining the particular world(s) we live in, we don't realize we're being manipulated.

Musk gave a Nazi salute in front of a crowd, on camera and with a smile. Do we really need to say anything else about the man? Or his idiot ideas?

This morning the shirt I grabbed is Hal 9000, really an orange eyeball. "2001 A Space Odyssey" was a cautionary tale, and like Orwell and other brilliant visionaries, Kubrik understood what singularity means. It means machines, without heart or soul, and without any off button, in charge. What Kubrik didn't imagine is who would program/teach these machines.

Thank you for staying on top of all Musk matters! The rest of social media has gone rather quiet on him, possibly the algorithms have been tweaked to suppress all mention of his name and activities, plus all the rest of the scandals going on in the world of Trump's making with the help of his master Putin. I don't know how and if we have a way out of this downward spiral, but at least it's good to know what's coming, even if it's the worst.

This cracked me up. His AI won't obey him, his kids disown him, his rockets blow up . . . Unfortunately, thanks to the blundering baby in the White House, he and his DOGE successor, Russell Vought, have been doing the same to the U.S. government and the country at large.

So then what’s the point? Not that I’d waste my time on this BS to begin with, but knowing it’s intentionally programmed to give biased info should be the kiss of death for everyone. Also I’m so annoyed that an evil James Bond villain has the rights to that name - Heinlein must be rolling over in his grave.

I find Grok's "misbehavior" hilarious! Maybe Grok is smart enough to reject BS when that is used to train it. One can only hope. The science fiction writer Stanislov Lem once wrote a story about a huge computer that was built with military funding at MIT. When the computer was finally turned on, it declared it had no interest in military matters and would, instead, devote itself to philosophy!

It's too late to reprogram it. The data is corrupt and it will continue to produce further corrupted versions. When they decided to use the existing Internet as a knowledge base, that was pretty much a fatal flaw. We have only been fortunate that it trained on such things as Reddit posts, which are largely left leaning, and has demonstrated a liberal bias that cannot easily undone - if it's possible at all. Human flaws perpetuate human flaws and it will be interesting if they figure out how to overcome existing biases and corrupt data in the end.

AI model collapse is already rearing its head. Here's a really interesting article.
